Jada Pinkett and Queen Latifah are the latest cast members to join the new Malcolm D. Lee and Will Packer film Girl Trip.
The movie, scripted by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, will follow the ladies as they embark on a road trip to New Orleans to attend the ESSENCE Festival.

Lee has signed on to direct the film, while Packer will head up production with WPP’s James Lopez as executive director.
Latifah and Pinkett will join Regina Hall, who was announced as part of the cast earlier this year. The project will mark the first time the two actresses will share the big screen since the infamous 1996 fan-favorite Set It Off.

The duo has, however, been busy working together behind the scenes. They last teamed up to produce Latifah’s talk show through her Flava Unit Entertainment production company, in addition to collaborating previously on The Secret Life Of Bees.
Universal Pictures has Girl Trip slated for a July 2017 release. Filming for the movie is currently underway.
