After the events of last week, many people are jumping into action to advocate for a better relationship between police and the black community. The Game and his son Harlem recently started a campaign to raise money for Officer Tommy Norman in Arkansas who “has changed the way he approaches the community he patrols and is committed to building strong relationships with the residents.”
The Game shared via Instagram, “I had conversations with my oldest son @hvrlemtaylor about good cops & bad ones & he did his research & found officer @tnorman23’s page & i was touched by how active he is in the black community where he polices.”
In order to help the officer, Harlem created a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for whatever Officer Norman needs so that he can continue on his mission to strengthen the community. The Game jumpstarted the campaign with a $1,000 donation and soon others followed suit. The campaign has already surpassed its $50,000 goal and in just three days people have donated over $60,000.
Officer Norman has been praised by T.I. and Young Thug as well as members of the Arkansas community. In an update for the campaign, Harlem shared, “Officer Norman is overwhelmed with how many people have come together and I can’t wait to see the looks on the kids faces when they see all we’re going to do. Keep sharing our story with others, I can’t thank everyone enough!!!!” You can donate to his GoFundMe here.
