Comic-Con got a little more colorful Saturday when Marvel decided to unveil the cast of the upcoming Black Panther flick.
The movie focuses on the sole black male superhero of the comic book franchise, played by Chadwick Boseman. But it’s the full cast, seen above, that’s getting us even more excited.
Director Ryan Coogler also introduced Michael B. Jordan, who plays villain Erik Killmonger; Lupita Nyong’o, who took the role of Nakia; and Danai Guriraas Okoye, head of the female warriors that make up Black Panther’s all-female security team.
“What they do is beautiful and epic and stunning and tells nuanced powerful stories about human beings who are fractured and flawed in extraordinary situations,” Gurira said about the progressive moves Marvel has been making towards diversity. “So to see that done through various types of individuals is how you would hope something would look but you never quite know if it will. And they make it that.”
The movie is expected out February 2018.
