Janelle Monáe is a one-woman explosion of talent that is steadily rising. The often too busy superstar is always on the go either at an event, entertaining or making commercials so we are used to seeing her looking all glammed up and gorgeous.
Well, she changed it up a bit over the weekend by sharing a no makeup and no weave selfie — and the Pompadour Princess had all her fans swooning.
Hair flowing freely, bare-faced and set to an all-white background, the 30 year old darling looked angelic and stunning. She captioned the pic:
“My friends say I never post personal selfies and my IG is too business and heavy. I’m trying. Shit.”
Talk about natural beauty — and let’s not pass up the opportunity to revel in that hair. Credited for single-handedly bringing back the pompadour, we just knew she had some pretty hair. And we’re so thankful that Alicia Keys has started this empowering #nomakeup movement.
Monaé shared two more pics on Instagram, and while most of the comments were of praise, quite a few commenters thought she looked like Rasheeda from VH1’s “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta.” We have to agree they do favor each other and with her #nomakeupselfie the resemblance is uncanny.
