Interim chair of the Democratic National Committee Donna Brazile apologized Monday for the private emails leaked and released by WikiLeaks, which suggested the party heavily favored Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders. Brazile says that the emails “do not reflect the spirit of this part,” HuffPost reports.
“With a humble heart, I want to say something as your vice chair,” said Brazile during a black caucus meeting at the Democratic National Convention.
“I sincerely apologize, my friends, for those of you who took offense and were offended, for those of you who feel betrayed and were betrayed by the ridiculous and insensitive and inappropriate emails released from the Democratic Party,” she said.
She also noted that the FBI would be investigating into the leaks. To read her official apology on behalf of everyone at the DNC, click here.
