Following yesterday’s mysterious live stream, sources have confirmed that Frank Ocean’s follow up to Channel Orange will finally be released Friday.
According to The New York Times, a person with knowledge of the release plans revealed that Boys Don’t Cry will be an Apple Music exclusive. A video is expected to drop as well and a printed publication named after the album will be available in Apple Stores. Ocean’s album is expected to remain an Apple exclusive for two weeks before becoming available to other streaming platforms.
It feels like it’s been decades since Ocean’s Channel Orange dropped and since then he’s left hints, release dates have come and gone, and rumors have swirled about the new album and what Ocean has been up to, but it seems like this time Boys Don’t Cry is really happening and we’ll finally get what we’ve been waiting for.
So this Friday, like every other Frank Ocean fan, we’ll be waiting with bated breath to see if the singer’s highly-anticipated album will arrive. Please, Frank, drop the album.
