Sometimes it’s best to leave things alone and that’s pretty much how Will Smith feels about rebooting The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
In an interview with E! News, the Suicide Squad actor shared that he had zero interest in reviving the sitcom. “I don’t think ever, like pretty close to when hell freezes over. Like, we’re going to leave that one alone.”
Last year, TVLine reported that a reboot of the much loved sitcom was in development with Smith attached. Sources told the website that Smith’s production company, Overbrook Entertainment, was in early stages of development and that the show would be a “family comedy that puts a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of Fresh Prince.”
Still, never say never. Smith might not be into rebooting the series, but others behind the sitcom might decide to bring it back. With just about every show from the ’90s being considered for a reboot, it’s still possible for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to hit our TV screens once again.
