There aren’t a lot of ways we can relate to Kelly Rowland. She’s a Grammy Award-winning superstar for Heaven’s sake. But, apparently something we do have in common are stretch marks. Ugh.
In a video for Allure’s “Pretty Powerful” series Rowland chats about her beauty evolution — and also voiced something we’ve all hoped for.
“I wish someone would invent something to take away stretch marks and cellulite.”
Amen.
Although we’d rather share her superstar status (and bank account), it’s certainly comforting to know that Rowland is plagued with the same pesky body issues along with us mere mortals.
The 35-year-old mother of 21-month-old son, Titan, also jokingly added: “If you don’t have stretch marks or cellulite after having a baby, I really don’t like you. It’s not fair.”
Again, amen.
To that point, there are so many of us that have dealt with dramatic transformations of our bodies — whether you’ve birthed a child or not. Those streaks, stripes and dimples are ultimately a reflection of our strength and personal evolutions, even if they’re unwanted.
Sadly there is no proven “cure” for stretch marks or cellulite — we have our genes to thank for that. But there are several treatments and products that can help reduce their formation and appearance. Here are just a few of the lotions and potions we grab when our lines and lumps are a bit too much.
