Alicia Keys is still going strong with her decision to forego makeup completely, and she has a few words for people who seem to have a problem with it.
The R&B songstress dominated headlines during her recent makeup-free appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, with many women — and men — across the world taking to social media to rave about her naturally beautiful skin. For reasons known to no one, there were also a host of viewers and fans that somehow took issue with Alicia bringing her no makeup vow to the red carpet and the VMA stage.
A. Key’s isn’t one who typically addresses public backlash on social platforms, but she did take a moment to shut down the nonsense once people began accusing her of “makeup-shaming.”
Y'all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn't mean I'm anti-makeup. Do you! 😘😘 pic.twitter.com/Mg0Ug9YA9q

The wife and mother of two first sparked the no makeup conversation back in March when she first began going makeup free in photos posted to her social media.
Her husband, Swizz Beatz, also had a thing or two to say about his wife’s no makeup movement. Check it out, here.
