Jussie Smollett, who you may know as Jamal Lyon on FOX’s hit show Empire, isn’t just an amazing actor, but an activist as well.
Recently, Smollett posed for a photo with friend and fellow activist DeRay McKesson, which McKesson tweeted and wrote, “@JussieSmollett, you’re hilarious & it was great to hang yesterday and talk blackness, freedom, & the work.”

It’s great to see two amazing people working together, but of course, this is Twitter and trolls abound. After a troll tweeted a homophobic joke, Smollett came in with what can only be described as the most savage clapback ever.
“No he didn’t,” Smollett tweeted, “But ya daddy did right after I dropped @deray off. Gotta hit him and make sure his throat is ok.”

Smollett’s clapback back was met with universal praise and pearl-clutching. He did not come to play and needless to say, trolls everywhere better think twice before coming for Jamal Lyon.
