The highly-anticipated film adaptation of the popular Marvel comic, which hits theaters February 16, has a star-studded cast that includes Chadwick Boseman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong’o— to name a few. Wright plays Black Panther’s little sister who is into technology and science and is also next in line to become the next Black Panther.
“I want little girls and boys to come out of the cinema and be like, ‘Yo mom, I wanna be a scientist. I wanna use my mind to be innovative. I wanna build my country,'” she told the ESSENCE Fest audience last July. “So hopefully this film does that.”
