On Thursday, many woke to discover a new J. Cole album titled 4 Your Eyez Only was available for pre-order. Skeptics were hesitant to believe that Cole was releasing new music, especially after hinting at retirement on DJ Khaled’s “Jermaine’s Interlude.”
But it’s true: J. Cole is dropping a new album––and soon.
Following the pre-sale news, the 2014 Forest Hills Drive rapper confirmed the upcoming album once again with a 40-minute documentary on TIDAL called Eyez.

The doc includes two videos for songs “False Prophets” and “Everybody Gotta Die,” which takes shots at the rap game and “Pitchfork rappers,” while “False Prophets” aims at emcees who tout themselves as geniuses, but have since fallen off or don’t write their own songs.
“False Prophets” also shows viewers where the photo of J. Cole riding a bus in Queens originated.
4 Your Eyez Only drops December 9, but for now, you can stream Eyez on TIDAL.
