Inside Queen Latifah's PCA Makeup Look

At last night’s People’s Choice Awards, Queen Latifah did it all–she hosted the ceremony, she sang, she had several stellar wardrobe changes, but most importantly, she gave amaaazing face. “Queen had three wardrobe changes, so we wanted to go with a look that would suit all her choices,” said celebrity makeup artist D’andre Michael, who worked with Latifah last night. “I decided to go with a royal blue smoky eye, nude lips, and bronzed skin.” Here, Michael breaks down the steps he took to create the Queen’s royal look.

FACE
“I used CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Compact Foundation in Golden Honey, and then set it with CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Pressed Powder in Brown Bronze 1.”

EYES
“First, I applied MAC Eyeshadow in Brown Down above the crease and under the lower lash, and then I dusted Lancome Eyeshadow  in Garment Intense over the entire lid. For depth, I lined the inner bottom eyelid with CoverGirl Outlast Eyeliner in Onyx. Finally, I accentuated Queen’s lashes with CoverGirl LashBlast  Volume Waterproof Mascara in Very Black.”

LIPS
“I wanted to balance her smokey eye with a nude lip, so I lined her lips with Kevyn Aucoin Flesh Tone Lip Pencil in Deep (make sure you rub your lips together to blend the liner) and then layered on CoverGirl Lipslicks Lipgloss in Cutie.”

CHEEKS
“Queen already has beautiful cheekbones, so I used MAC Blush in Sweet As Cocoa just to add a hint of color and tone. For a subtle glow, I dusted CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Bronzer in Brown Bronze all over.”
