It’s never too early to dance!
Essence Festival 2019 attendees made this clear as they turned out for the WW (Weight Watchers Reimagined) & Daybreaker morning dance class!
The hour was 8:00 am and New Orleans legends Big Freedia and The Rebirth Brass Band along with Tamela Mann and the one and only Loni Love helped festival goers start the day off right and with health in mind.
Known for her iconic Nola bounce, Big Freedia shared why she stepped out to dance with a purpose. “It’s important for us to keep our community healthy and on the right track and Weight Watchers has always promoted great eating,” she said. “I tell people all of the time your health is your wealth.”
When it comes to how to stay motivated when getting healthy and losing weight is the goal, VIP WW coaches Alicia Sissac, Nicole Pillow and Monica Pierce shared key things to focus on.
“The key is believing you can do something you’ve never done before and standing behind it and not giving up on yourself,” shared Alicia Sissac.
Coach Monica Pierce noted that it’s also about acknowledging challenges and remembering what’s important. “I think the other piece is accepting that you will have those moments where you’re like ‘you know I really want this right now, but I want this more.”
Still, coach Nicole Pillow shared what might be the most grounding factors in a weight loss journey. ‘If you know why you want to lose weight, and how it’s going to change your life on a deeper level, you’re attaching it to something that has meaning.”
Clearly, this empowering WW and Daybreaker event was one for the books!
