Idris Elba nabbed the Best Male Actor prize for his work on U.K. detective series Luther at Britian’s Royal Television Society Awards on Tuesday. The BBC drama follows Idris Elba as Luther, “a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can’t always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions.” [HollywoodReporter]
Oprah Winfrey is on the move! The media mogul has just expanded her brand into the world of…chai tea? Yes, Winfrey has partnered up with Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz to bring her own tea line to a Starbucks near you. Oprah said that she worked tirelessly with “teologists” to create the perfect blend. Proceeds from the sales will go to philanthropic ventures. Pick up your cup of Oprah chai tea at Starbucks and Teavana locations starting April 29. [E!News]
Dionne Warwick is set to be excused from paying her debts. The 73-year-old singer declared bankruptcy last year after running up to $10 million in debt due to unpaid taxes. A bankruptcy trustee filed legal documents on Tuesday requesting that she be excused from paying bills dating back to 1991. If successful she will be able to keep her personal assets including furniture, artwork, jewelry, clothing and $1,000 in cash. [MSN]
Cory Hardrict has been cast in Clint Eastwood film, American Sniper. Hardrict will play a Navy SEAL in the film based on the life of Chris Kyle played by Bradley Cooper. Kyle’s memoir, American Sniper: The Autobiography of The Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History will be the basis for the production. [Deadline]
