• Jay Z is gearing up to release a film at the Toronto International Film Festival this fall. The movie, directed by Oscar-winner Ron Howard, is entitled Made In America and will be centered around the rapper’s role as curator of his Made In America music festival. “The festival showcases 20 pre-eminent artists that speak to the new generation. I am producing the film with Steve Stoute and Jay,” said Howard. “It is going to be born through Jay Z’s perspective…how he puts the event together.” Made in America will debut during the Toronto Film Festival, which takes place from September 8-18 and will be amongst 146 other films premiering for the first time at the festival. •Sybrina Fulton has teamed up with gospel artist T-D.O.G.G on a new single entitled “Joy Comes in the Morning.” The song debuted on a South Florida radio station Tuesday, where Fulton told listeners about her initial reaction to George Zimmerman’s acquittal in the murder of her son Trayvon Martin. “We couldn’t believe that people didn’t see it our way and think he was guilty,” said Fulton. “I can’t be mad or angry about it, I have to move forward.” T-D.O.G.G says after watching Fulton’s interviews following her son’s death, he was inspired to reach out to do the song with her. “I went back and watched her segments on TV and said ‘I’m going to step outside of myself and see what she would be feeling,'” said T-D.O.G.G. Fulton says she hopes to use the song to reach out to others who have lost loved ones to gun violence. “I wanted to do something to inspire other people, other families who have been victims of senseless gun violence.” [The Grio]
