Usher delivered an amazing performance of his new song “No Limit” at the 2016 BET Awards on Sunday night, but it’s what he wore while jamming out on stage that spoke just as loud as his music.
The Grammy-Award winning singer sported a dark green, button-down shirt emblazoned with the words “Don’t Trump America” on the back. Thus, essentially announcing his poltical sentiments: Anit-Trump.
Fashion has always been a powerful and head-turning way to express one’s personal and politcal views. There were the peace-sign embroidered clothing of the 60s; Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs’ “Vote or Die” T-shirts; Jamie Foxx’s Trayvon Martin shirts; and anything donning #BlackLivesMatter, just to name a few.
We love when stars actually use their spotlight to address issues beyond their latest professional ventures. Do you agree?
