Tiffany Haddish is having one hell of a year and at ESSENCE’s Black Women in Hollywood event, the actress was celebrated for all she has accomplished.
Speaking to ESSENCE Now’s Makho Ndlovu and digital director Yolanda Sangweni, Haddish shared that the support she’s received from comedians and Black women in the industry has felt “amazing.”
“It feels amazing. You always wonder, ‘Do my sisters care? Am I out here on my own, struggling?’ They do care! You’re not by yourself!”
The actress adds that she’s spent a lot of time crying tears of joy and thanks throughout the year, but dropped this nugget of wisdom: “Crying is nothing but a washing away of old beliefs and a replacing of new ones.”
Haddish is set to appear next in TBS’ The Last O.G. opposite Tracy Morgan and recently signed a deal with Netflix for her own animated series.
Looks like 2018 will be another incredible year for Haddish.
