Today ESSENCE assembled some of Hollywood’s biggest and brightest stars to honor Black women in film and television. It’s one of the hottest tickets in Hollywood, and everyone who’s anyone came to the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood luncheon to uplift and encourage their sisters.

“To be in this room, I feel very capable of doing anything in Hollywood, even though it’s hard and it has its trials at times,” says Sparkle star Tika Sumpter. “This room is full of beautiful talented women of color, and I’m so happy and proud to be a part of it.”

We spotted Jordin Sparks, Adepero Oduye, Wendy Raquel Robinson, and more on the red carpet, and asked them what they love most about the luncheon experience.
