There aren’t many colors that don’t look well on Lupita Nyong’o, but purple is especially special. Last night celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose complimented the actress’ violet floral gown with glowing skin and a vibrant eye courtesy of Bright Eyes Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Jacaranda Bloom, a palette created by Lancôme in collaboration with Lupita and Barose. And, if you were inspired by the cool video of Lupita applying Lancôme’s Color Design lipstick in Hit List, listen up because we learned exactly what to do.
FACE:
To further enhance Lupita’s natural glow, Barose applied Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate, La Base Pro Pore Eraser and Génifique Eye Light Pearl. For a mattifying glow, Barose then used Translucence Mattifying Powder in Suede 550 and Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer #4. Finally, Nude Miracle Liquid-to-Powder Makeup in Suede 530 was used for a second-skin, no-makeup look.

EYES:
To make Lupita’s eyeshadow look vibrant and pigmented, Barose applied Bright Eyes Color Design 5-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Jacaranda Bloom in several layers. Next, he added Artliner in Aubergine, and for full, thick lashes he applied Grandiôse Mascara. For an added dose of fun, Barose used Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eye Liner in Café Noir and Amethyst.
LIPS:
Before applying Color Design Lipcolor in Hit List, Barose wanted to boost moisture, so he applied Kiehl’s Facial Fuel No Shine Lip Balm. Next, he defined and contoured her lips with Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolat. Lastly, Lip Lover in Framboise Etoile was used for a non-sticky shine.
NAILS:
Celebrity manicurist Deborah Lippmann performed Lupita’s 5-step manicure for the big event. Deborah accented her dress by using a sheer iridescent pink pastel color. We like La Vie En Rose.
