Beyonce had barely gotten off the stage before her favorite hater-at-large Piers Morgan shared his disappointment at her Grammy performance.
“Didn’t really ‘feel’ that Beyonce performance. Seemed heavier on the narcissism than the music,” he tweeted, despite the internet’s standing ovation of her set.
He also had a few more words for her after she took the stage to accept her Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of black representation in pop culture, and why it mattered to her and her family.
“Awful acceptance speech too,” he tweeted. “Looked bored as hell reading it. Come on Beyonce, you’re better than this.”
This is not Morgan’s first time trolling Beyonce. He came under fire last year after he wrote a scathing review of Lemonade for the Daily Mail, calling it “political” and “race-fuelled.”
All this recent negativity is a surprise considering his obvious awe of Beyonce when he interviewed her for his now defunct Piers Morgan show in 2011.
Of course, Morgan’s internet carcass is currently being devoured by the Beyhive for his post-Grammy criticism. But we doubt Beyonce is worrying much about him tonight!
