“When Zendaya finds out she’s going to an event the first thing my team and I do is research the event because every award show is different and has it’s own dress code,” explains the Zendaya Coleman’s stylist Law Roach whose photo shows him jet setting to Los Angeles for the MTV Movie Awards.
“It’s sounds corny, but It’s like magic when she put on the dress, everyone in the room, my team, her mom just stopped. We just knew that’s the one,” the stylist tells us. “‘I love it, I love it,’ she said as soon as she put it on and the first thing her mom said was, ‘that split is a little high,'” laughs the stylist.
Dress by Emanuel Ungaro; Shoes by Christian Louboutin; Jewels by Jacob & Co., Dionea Orcini, and John Hardy.
“I’m really inspired by vintage. things from the past,” reveals Law (shown here). “I look to Bianca Jagger, Cher and Patti LaBelle. I like to see how people have re-interpreted things that have been done before. I owned a vintage store previously so I’m so captivated by the way things were,” explains the celeb stylist who’s clients include LaLa Anthony and singer Monica.
“On the rack we had options from Michael Kors and Christian Siriano, Custo, Fausto Puglisi and Ungaro,” dished Law. “There’s a lot of pattern on pattern and mixed media which is really cool. We thought it would be fun because she’s still young and her style is sophisticated, but she’s still only 17 so we always want to keep that in mind.”
“Zendaya loves diamonds. Whatever man marries her it’s going to be a problem,” jokes the stylist. “She has three favorite things in the whole world: ice cream, diamonds and shoes.”
“I knew I wanted to do a big chandelier earring and a lot of bling because the dress was so covered up.”
