The Academy Awards just got a lot hotter. Oscar producers announced that “Glory” singers John Legend and Common would be performing their hit single at the Feb. 22 awards.
Featured in Ava DuVernay’s Selma, which is nominated for Best Picture, “Glory” is up for Best Song, facing off with “Lost Stars” (Begin Again), “Everything is Awesome” (The Lego Movie), “Grateful” (Beyond the Lights) and “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” (Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me). “Glory” already took home the Golden Globe for Best Original Song as well as a Critics’ Choice Award.
“Common and John Legend are artists who have always lifted our spirits and made us think,” Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement. “The Oscar stage is that much more profound because of their presence, and we welcome them.”
Looks like we will be tuning into the show!
