Last year’s Academy Awards show was a huge success in ratings but we’re wondering if this year’s show will be as great.
A lot of favorites were nominated last year like The Butler, 12 Years A Slave and Frozen. This year’s Oscar nominations came with upsets in almost all categories. With Selma‘s director and star out of the running, and with indie films that didn’t have widespread release ruling the nominations, we’re wondering if the award show is going to draw a big enough audience from the Black community this year.
People also watched in large numbers last year to see a favorite host, Ellen DeGeneres, return to the stage. In fact, viewership was on the rise for the first time since 2000 after DeGeneres hosted (and took the infamous selfie). But this year, first-time Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris will be taking a turn at leading the show. Will he be enough to keep your attention?
The Academy Awards will be presented on Sunday, February 22. We want to know: will you be watching this year? Take our poll then let us know in the comments what films you wish were nominated for an Oscar.
