Beyonce trails Brown with 6 nominations, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist. Pharrell is just behind her with 5 nominations competing against Brown in the category Best R&B/Soul Male Artist.
Other nominees include Drake, Janelle Monae, John Legend, and Jhene Aiko. In the gospel category, Michelle Williams is nominated for “Best Gospel/ Inspirational Song for “Say Yes.” Erica Campbell and Tamela Mann are also nominated for “Help” and “I Can Only Imagine.”
The awards will be presented November 7 in a ceremony hosted by talk show host Wendy Williams. They air November 30 on Centric and BET at 8pmET/PT.
