As if news of Erykah Badu returning to host this year’s Soul Train Awards wasn’t big enough, Jill Scott, India Arie, and Eric Benet have been added as presenters.
On top of that, Yuna, Candice Boyd, and MAJOR. will be performing at the award show, a star-studded line-up that’s sure to keep audiences entertained.
It was also announced earlier this year that Brandy will receive the second annual Lady of Soul Award, an honor the Grammy-winning artist absolutely deserves. Grammy award-winning producer, singer and songwriter Teddy Riley will also be presented with the Legend Award.
Nominees this year include a number of amazing artists: Drake, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Chance the Rapper and Kanye West, to name a few.

Drake leads the pack with 12 nominations, but Beyoncé isn’t far behind with eight. Needless to say, viewers will be tuning in to see Badu run the show once again and to see who she might take shots at this year.
Last year, the singer cracked some sharp jokes at the expense of Iggy Azalea, pretending to call the singer and saying, “Uh yes? Who is this? Iggy Azalea? Yeah, hey. Oh, no, no, no, no, you can come, ’cause what you doin’ is definitely not rap.” She also made fun of herself, adding, “As you know, I am the queen of neo soul, and people say I have this common effect on rappers: that I make them change gods and wear crochet hats, shoulder pads, so they have banned me from all of the hip-hop awards with a sign saying ‘Erykah Badu, leave our rappers alone.’”
The awards show will be filmed Nov. 6 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and will air Nov. 27 on CENTRIC and BET.
