Who could ever forget that episode of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 when the judges “softly nudged” (and by softly nudged we mean forced) contestant Danielle (Dani) Evans to undergo a procedure to close her tooth gap? It was painful to watch her go back and forth about it, trying to reconcile whether or not it was worth it just to stay in the competition after she had finally become comfortable with the trait that used to be the root of an insecurity for her.
Eventually she made the decision to close her gap and she won that season. And soon after, gaps became trendy in the modeling world, with models like Georgia May Jagger and Lara Stone becoming permanent fixtures in fashion and beauty campaigns.

Today, models like Slick Woods and Anne Barreto, and celebrities like Uzo Aduba wear their gaps like a badge of honor. Even former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has an unambiguously large gap and she’s smiling proudly in all of her photos.
Having a tooth gap is sort of like having a really unique name. When you’re a kid you hate it because everyone teases you for it, but when you become an adult you embrace it as something that sets you apart from everyone else. Gaps are not only cute when they’re on trend, they’re a quirky feature that can really enhance a smile.
So for all the ladies out there with gaps in their teeth, we say smile like Condoleezza, because we’ll never get sick of seeing them. We especially love them on these 25 beauties.
