Gone are the days when models could simply be a pretty face in the ads of our favorite beauty campaigns. Nowadays, our favorite models are those that use their platforms to expand and challenge traditional definitions of beauty, like Ebonee Davis and London Meyers who have both been very vocal about being women of color in the fashion industry.
Included on that list is British model and activist Adwoa Aboah, which is why we’re so thrilled she’s just been named the newest face of Marc Jacobs Beauty for 2018.
In the first official campaign image the 25-year-old Ghanaian-British model and feminist wears a liquid lip crayon named Le Marc from Jacobs’ latest line of products. According to the press release, Le Marc is “the first-ever liquid lipstick in a crayon.” Adwoah is rocking a shade called “Rouge,” which will be available in December.
We’re so excited and proud of Adwoa!
