Movie star Daniel Kaluuya took this year’s Oscars by storm in his gold velvet blazer. And while we loved his suit, it was his dewy, uber flawless skin that caught our attention.
So when we found out that his glow was courtesy of Fenty Beauty, we were over the moon. Yes, you read that right. According to his makeup artist Amber Amos, The Get Out and Black Panther star wore Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shade #480 and #490 on the red carpet to achieve his glowing complexion.
Fenty was just as excited as we were, and even shared the news via their Twitter account. A number of fans were impressed, responding to the news on social media. Amos, who specializes in men’s grooming, followed up saying she didn’t even have to use any setting powder (gasp!).
The foundation clearly held up through the night, and didn’t transfer onto Oscar winner Jordan Peele’s white tuxedo jacket after the two embraced in a congratulatory hug.
This was yet another win for Fenty Beauty and another win for men in makeup. Contrary to popular belief, many of our favorite male celebrities wear makeup on the red carpet and on camera. Just like the ladies, foundation helps to even out complexion while powder helps to soak up oils (and hold foundation in place).
While we often times don’t see male celebs in a full-on Insta-glam beat, they definitely do have a makeup artist on standby for those moments they need to look their absolute best on camera. Hopefully, we’ll start seeing more details about the makeup and grooming habits our celebrity guys are using these days.
