As we patiently (kind of) await season five of HBO’s hit show Insecure, we toil over what we can do to pass the time in anticipation. We’ve already binged Awkward Black Girl, again, have scrolled Issa Rae’s Instagram one too many times, and have refreshed our memory by rewatching seasons one through four. But now, there seems to be something else around to hold us over. That is, if you’re a makeup lover.
Los Angeles-based brand Boujie Free Cosmetics just partnered with Insecure to launch “Low Key Glowing,” a collection of cosmetics for women of color, with high-intensity pigments made perfectly for melanin.
“We are excited to partner with HBO’s Insecure to launch a beautiful line of cosmetics,” said Karen Williams, CEO of Boujie Free Cosmetics said in a press release. “The Boujie Free girl identifies with the hit HBO series. Like Issa, she embraces her rich and diverse Black culture, her community, career, and relationships with close girlfriends, and she remains true to who she is. She is many different women at different stages of life, growing and glowing as she finds her way.”
The collection includes there are two eyeshadow palettes ($60) with fifteen shades each, containing shades ranging from deep brown hues, high-octane blues, and fiery oranges. With both shimmer and matte finishes, looks can go from day to night in almost an instance. Also included is two matte lip stains ($28) with a velvet finish, in a nude and plum hue.
So while you continue to wait, treat yourself to (almost) the next best thing to an Insecure premiere.
