Eva Marcille is one of those women you’d find yourself staring at if she were sitting across the table from you at dinner. She’s that gorgeous!
At this year’s ESSENCE Music Festival, the model and actress flaunted her trademark makeup move—long lashes, color-rich lips and dewy skin— and we just had to pull her aside to get the deets on what’s in her beauty arsenal. Eva spilled the beans on her best-kept hair and makeup secrets and even gave us a peek inside her clutch to reveal the products she never leaves home without.
ESSENCE.com: Eva, your hair and makeup are always flawless! What is your number one secret to staying fabulous on-the-go?
EVA MARCILLE: I have a cousin named Terrell Mullen and he’s my makeup artist and hairstylist, so I actually lucked out. He is the best in the business and he has to do my hair and makeup, he has no choice [Laughs].
ESSENCE.com: You recently changed your hair and went back to the platinum blond. What inspired you to change it up again?
EVA MARCILLE: I have a new TV show, Girlfriend Confidential, coming out on Oxygen in September and what you’ll see on the show is part of my struggle in this business. I exude a lot of my confidence through my hair. My hair reflects what I’m going through and how I feel. So it was time to go back to the blond.
ESSENCE.com: You are a master of wearing a bold, bright lip. What’s your favorite lipstick and how to you make the color last?
EVA MARCILLE: MAC has the best matte colors and they are really bright. I’ve found that the matte colors are great because they won’t run and end up all on your chin. They really stay put. My favorite MAC color right now is called Lady Danger.
ESSENCE.com: What beauty goodies do you have in your handbag right now that you can’t leave home without?
EVA MARCILLE: Let’s see… I have a Motives by LaLa lip gloss. I live by LaLa’s lip glosses. She has some of the best out there. I also have a mini Lush perfume which I always have because the scent lingers so the men remember you. [Laughs] I always have an extra MAC lip gloss. And mints!
