When we first discovered that Ida Keeling started running at the age of 67 we instantly fell in love. Now at 102, Ms. Keeling shows absolutely no sign of slowing down. In fact, she’s still breaking records — in 2016 she became the first woman in history to complete a 100-meter run.
So how exactly does she remain so spry?
“The doctor put me on Hennessey in 1972 because I had poor circulation. I take me a lil shot in a glass straight,” she told Allure in a recent video. And Ida prefers to have her drink du jour every single day, because why not?
In addition to her special drink, Keeling also suggests, “Eating for nutrition and not for taste. I drink cod liver oil in the morning. I take that and orange juice and all kind of vegetables.”
When it comes to exercising, the marathon runner is adamant that it should be done daily. “Make sure you exercise every day, exercise is the best medicine out there,” she says. “Because if you don’t use it, you’re going to lose it.”
