With a beauty industry full of products and services claiming to “fix” your insecurities, finding a brand that champions inside-out wellness is rare. After 17 years of practicing esthetics, Shani Hillian, identified many people primarily use active skincare ingredients without looking at internal causes–mood, food intake, and gut health– of their skin issues. “Your skin is the window to your inner well-being and outward manifestation of your inner health,” she says. That’s where her new brand, IN GROOV which is available today, comes in. “It’s all about protecting the skin’s microbiome with a simple yet effective neutral product,” the Every Mood cleansing oil.
This cleansing oil is a multi-functional product to simplify your daily regimen. “Cleansing is the cornerstone of any skincare ritual and will help or hinder its overall health,” she says. Ideal for every skin type, the expert-developed cleanser is fortified with plant-derived botanicals. This includes Milk Thistle for acne, Argan for eczema-prone individuals, and Prickly Pear to honor her Jamaican roots.
The idea for the must-have product came to her while traveling through the airport. She asked herself, “‘what if I lost my luggage and only had 1 product in my carry-on to use?’ Could I cleanse and moisturize with it?” With numerous benefits– from dissolving debris to boosting radiance, and regeneration of the skin– the cleansing oil is her solution to this concern.
Hillian is of course dreaming big beyond this launch, too. She hopes to eventually create gut-balancing supplements. She is also actively planning to curate pop-ups, events, and retreats to “cater to the whole you.” You can expect that they will focus on skincare, adopting sustainable eating habits, and movement. More than anything, she’s just excited to bring her vision to life. “I think I have always had an innate desire to create something,” she says. Especially something that involves “growing a sustainably rich community that’s eager and passionate about the welfare of their skin and overall health.”
