We know you’ve rocked the same black smokey eye for the past five years. We get it, you’re tired and uninspired. Enter celeb makeup artist and Covergirl ambassador, Sam Fine who is a master at beating the most famous faces of our time. Here, he gives step-by-step instructions on nailing the best smokey eye for the entire work week. And if your really feeling bold, create your own for the weekend.
1. Monday
Put your best face forward with the simplest smoky eye ever. Start by applying Perfect Point Plus in Black Onyx to both upper and lower lashes, then, using the soft smudger tip, gently smudge slightly beyond the outer corners to shape the eye beautifully. Next, apply the same liner to the inner rim of the eye for added drama, then, finish the look with a few coats of mascara.
2. Tuesday
Who said you have to use black or gray eye shadow to create a smoky eye? Break the rules by using Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Brown Smolder. Start by applying this rich brown shade from lash to crease and underneath the eye as well. Then, soften the edges by using a clean sponge tip applicator. Lining the upper eye with Bombshell Intensity Liner by LashBlast in Chocolate Kiss and applying a few coats of mascara make this look complete.
3. Wednesday
Humpday means you’re almost done with the week, so show off eyes with a sexy, sultry smoky eye to celebrate! Use one of my favorite palettes, Eye Enhancers 3-Kit Shadow in Smoke Alarm. Apply the deepest shade from lash to crease, and soften edges with the medium shade for a seamless, smoky transition. Using Perfect Point Plus in Black Onyx, smudge liner closest to the upper lash line and apply a few coats of mascara.
4. Thursday
Keep co-workers guessing which smoky eye look you’ll rock today by using vibrant color. Using Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Midnight Blue to line both upper and lower lashes, then, using the soft smudger tip, gently smudge slightly beyond the outer corners to shape the eye. Next, add liner to the inner rim of the eye and a few coats of Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara.
5. Friday
It’s finally Friday and it’s time to put your skills to the test! Go all out by using Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadow in Daring Nudes. Begin by layering the deepest shade of gray over the entire eyelid from lashline to crease, then, use the plum shade to soften the edges and introduce a bit of color. Using Bombshell Intensity Liner by Lashblast, line the upper lid and extend the line past the outer corner for a cat-like finish. We’re not done yet—apply the brown shadow nearest the lower lashes/underneath the eye to add warmth and richness, then line the inner rim of the eye with Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner in Black Onyx. Last, but certainly not least, apply a few coats of Clump Crusher by Lashblast Mascara to both upper and lower lashes. And don’t bother removing this smoky eye tonight; it’ll look perfect at brunch tomorrow!
