Lifetime has announced its cast for the network’s upcoming Salt-N-Pepa biopic limited series—and it’s getting us excited.
Actresses GG Towson and Laila Odom will play Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton, respectively. Monique Paul will star as Deidra “Spinderella” Roper. Odom has previously appeared in The Bobby DeBarge Story and Undercover Brother 2, while Towson has popped up in projects like In the Cut and Everybody Hates Chris.
And we’re sure the limited series will be one to watch since New Jack City director Mario Van Peebles will helm the project.
The biopic has the group’s seal of approval with Denton and James attached to executive produce alongside Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, James “Jimmy” Maynes, and Hurby Azor.
No premiere date has been announced but the limited series will air in 2020.
