One thing is for sure: Winter is coming. And, it’s a fine time to switch up your beauty routine and winterize your makeup. And, even if it means frozen lashes, it doesnt mean they can’t glow with style. Check out these tips for looking radiant all winter long with celebrity makeup artist, Sebastien Tardif.
1. Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate. “First, cleanse and tone your skin, then follow with Sunset Light,” says Tardif. “Sunset Light is the last product to go on the face prior to doing makeup; that includes any other skincare and sunscreen product you typically use. Why? You need to start with a hydrating serum or your skin will soak up all the moisture in your go-to base layer and leave only pigment behind, making you look cakey.”
2. It’s Prime Time for Primer. In winter, when you’re skin is already dry; powders settle into fine lines and make them stand out even more. Now is the perfect time to try primers and serums.
3. Drink Water. You’ve heard it before, so don’t act surprised. Aside from using hydrating serums, the best way to keep your skin hydrated this winter is to drink lots of water. Your body is composed of 60% water, so how can you expect it to fully function if you dont refuel it with what it’s made of?
4. Brighten Up. “Whether we’re talking mood or complexion, brightening up is the key to surviving winter,” says Tardif. “Choose a brighter-than-usual concealer shade to enhance your complexion’s overall color and get little bit of an extra glow in the winter months. Make sure to choose a shade that compliments your skin tone.”
