We’ve all seen nail bloggers sporting decked out nail designs that seem way too intricate to accomplish on our own. And, if you’re like me, you’ve given up on nail art or left it up to your manicurist because you haven’t mastered being ambidextrous. The nails on my left hand may look good, but my right hand is always subject to interpretation! For nail art buffs that struggle with nail uniformity, I have the solution to your abstract nail art woes: Formula X’s Infinite Ombré Nail Design set. Here are three reasons why I can’t get enough of it.
Infinite Possibilities: Available at Sephora for $29.95, the five-polish set comes with four vibrant mini polishes and one full size in a metallic silver. It’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s cheaper than your bi-monthly mani considering that you can create over 30 different nail looks ranging from basic ombré to a more advanced stained glass design. There’s also a tutorial for three basic looks that you can build upon and change as you please, with additional options available on the Formula X website.
Precision Is NOT Key: Because the principle behind ombré is to blend, executing nail designs is simple and doesn’t require you to wait for the first coat to dry before beginning the second step of the design process. In fact, it is necessary to overlap different color applications while they are wet. So, if you’re in a rush and need something quick that still looks good, this is the perfect kit for you. And, since designs don’t have to be particularly neat, it’s a total win for everyone, especially the non-ambidextrous types like me!
Colors Are Work Appropriate: Although the base color is a metallic silver, the accent colors are rich jewel tones with fun names like Limitless Lemon, Boundless Berry, Infinite Indigo and Timeless Teal. While the stained glass design may not be the best option for the office, Electric Ombré—a two-tone design that transitions upwards from a dark color at the base of the nail to a lighter shade—is office friendly and perfect for date night.
