Entering this much-anticipated Spring season, the optimist in me hoped that my unbearably oily skin would somehow change its ways and let me live my best life.
As temps rose mid-April a rude awakening came in the form of full-on oil midday while I was just trying to run some errands.
This time though, I resolved to take matters into my own hands. A quick browse around Sephora brought me face to face with Ole Henriksen’s “Balance It All” Oil Fighting Skin Cleansing System. With promises of a cooling matte effect, nice packing, and a nice modest price tag of $36, I figured it was worth a try.
With no hesitation, I tried the three-step cleansing system that evening and the next morning with no luck. I mean, there were absolutely no signs of the shine letting up.
It was a tough blow — one I hadn’t expected and wasn’t ready for.
This oil was relentless.
The next day, prior to an action-packed excursion of museums and kid-friendly fun with my family, I decided to try again because if nothing else the minty, cooling effect was nice while it lasted. I washed my face with the cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, applied my Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation and went on about my business.
I wasn’t until our kid-dominated day came to an exhausting end that I realized, my face was just as matte as it was when I’d left the house.
It was nothing short of amazing. I swiped my finger across my forehead for further confirmation: nothing. It was worthy of celebration.
So now I’m sharing the good news. If you struggle with oily skin, especially when warm weather hits, I may have found the key to a cool, mattified face.
The formula consists of Green Fusion Complex™, neem seed oil, and AHAs, is super lightweight and I’m not the only one that’s in love with it.
