Fall red carpet season kicked off tonight with the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. While many get excited about awards season for the ostentatious gowns and handful of over the top menswear looks, weโre here for the flawless beats and the hairstyles to match.
And with the recent heatwave in L.A. (the high today reached nearly 90 degrees) itโs a feat to keep makeup from budging and strands from flying when you have to walk a red carpet under dozens of lights and cameras. But the melanin gods and goddesses of the small screen are used to keeping it together under all kinds of pressure.

And at tonightโs Emmy Awards they further proved that, showing off covetable artistic faces and โdos that held up through the night. These looks were so standout, they might need to host an awards tonight for the makeup artists and hairstylists that created them.
