No one else can celebrate Black women more exuberantly than, simply, a Black women – which artist SHAVONE. does alongside women alike. In celebration of our unique makes – our life stories and traits – SHAVONE. releases “4C,” a melody that divinely commends Black beauty.
Melanin and textured hair are just the surface of Black Girl Magic, and survival is the commonality amongst our internal qualities. The record entitled after our common natural hair texture, 4C, praises the exquisiteness of our external features but also sheds light on Black experiences.
SHAVONE. premiered the record on Billboard, where she exclusively shared, “As a creative and unapologetic woman of color, ‘4C’ is so dear to me because the art represents so much of my life and the women who continue to keep me and the rest of the world inspired.”
The song is uplifting along with the visual component which stars creatives that we know and love – including Nnenna B, Siraad Dirshe, Elyse Fox, Susy Oludule, just to name a few. SHAVONE. is an astounding creative that never ceases to amaze us – pay close attention because she’s effectively altering the narrative of our community for our good. As her song states, “Only we can save us.”
