They say that when you step foot on the campus of an HBCU, you’re walking on hallowed ground and the blood, sweat, and tears of our ancestors. Those words couldn’t be more real for the students, staff, and alumni of Bethune-Cookman University (BCU) in Florida.
Originally founded by Mary McLeod Bethune as the Daytona Literary and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls with just $1.50, BCU is a literal embodiment of Bethune’s dreams and the Wildcats that walk the school’s grounds today rep their HBCU with pride.
