Last night, America tuned into the Healing in the Heartland benefit concert for the victims of the May 20th tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. The Voice coaches Usher and Blake Shelton closed the star-studded show with a emotional rendition of “Home”—a song made famous by Michael Bublé.
The EF-5 tornado killed 24 people—including seven children—and caused billions of dollars in damage to the area. President Obama pledged to help the devastated region. “So the people of Moore should know that their country will remain on the ground, there for them, beside them as long as it takes,” said President Obama. “For there are homes and schools to rebuild, businesses and hospitals to reopen, there are parents to console, first responders to comfort, and, of course, frightened children who will need our continued love and attention.”
