On Tuesday October 15, Tracee Ellis Ross celebrated the launch of her new hair care line PATTERN with a midwest store fete. Last month the actress and now hair care innovator launched the line exclusively at Ulta Beauty stores and on ulta.com, and this week she joined customers at the Evergreen Park location in Chicago to commemorate the 10-piece collection launch with a meet and greet for a handful of lucky Ulta guests.
Ross told ESSENCE in the October issue of the magazine that she strives to live “an abundant juicy life,” and part of that is enjoying and celebrating her curly crown.
“Four years with chemists, and 74 samples later, we’re here. PATTERN’s products are very important to me,” she said. “I’m really interested in changing how we speak to each other, celebrate each other, love each other, and how we play with our hair.”
Later that day she also posted a video of herself gleefully playing with her juicy curls, whipping them back and forth in front of a camera. She captioned it: I still whip my hair back and forth.
When your pattern looks as good as Ross’, you should whip it on the regular.
The collection ranges from $9 to $42 and includes hydrating shampoo, conditioner for coilies and conditioner for curlies, hair serum, leave-in conditioner, as well as hair washing accessories.
“Tracee is remarkable and her passion for spreading joy and self-acceptance is inspiring. She has created a revolutionary brand that has not only changed the way people embrace and celebrate their natural hair, but how the industry views beauty as a whole.” said Monica Arnaudo, senior vice president of merchandising at Ulta Beauty. “We are truly honored to be able to help bring Tracee’s dream to life by providing a platform to reach more beauty lovers and those with curly, coily, and tight-textured hair across the country.”
