Many Black-owned business owners this year have seen an overwhelming amount of support. Due to the pandemic and the effect it is having on minority-led businesses, the push to Shop Black has arguably never been so strong. This summer after facing backlash from a Target commercial, The Honey Pot’s received an overload of support. The ad, which was meant to spotlight Black-owned brands, resulted in The Honey Pot and the CEO Beatrice Dixon being called “racist” against its White shoppers.
Despite the attacks, The Honey Pot Co. has announced new products wet to arrive in the spring of 2021. Known for its all-natural, plant-based products, the company will be moving all of its menstrual pads and liners from non-GMO cotton to certified organic cotton. The new selects will include menstrual pads in different sizes including regular, super, overnight and postpartum, as well as pantyliners to suit all needs. Honey Pot also says that the entire pad will be comprised of organic cotton to provide an all-around, “cloud-like feeling.” The herbal menstrual pads and liners will be infused with essential oils for soothing comfort and its beloved cooling sensation as well as lavender, rose, aloe vera and mint to soothe and refresh.
The menstrual pads will retail for $8 and liners for $7 in stores, and $9 and $8 at thehoneypot.co. Be on the lookout this spring.
