Attendees fully embraced his year’s Wearable Art Gala theme of The Lion King, with some hitting the red carpet in full lion face makeup, elaborate crowns, and creative manes. The event is an opportunity for guests to show off their visionary and imaginative sides when it comes to fashion and beauty. And on Saturday they did not hold back.

Black actors, musicians, designers, singers and other creatives allowed their wearable art to be an extension of their personalities. It was an enchanting moment, where Black beauty in all its splendor and elegance was at the forefront. If the mission was to wow, then mission accomplished.
