As a beauty editor, I have exposure to all of the newest products and a chance to play with each of them to determine which is a hit or a miss for our ESSENCE readers. Because it’s my job to stay on top of the latest trends, products and influencers, I’ve been able to pick up a trick or two about how to work a makeup brush. And, while I love good smoky eye, my favorite part of my morning beauty routine (aside from moisturizing) is definitely doing my brows; it’s also one of the primary questions I get complimented on and asked about by readers and friends a like. Killer Brows in 4 Steps:
1. Trim and brush brows up using a clean spooley.
2. Using an angled brush, gently press the flat edge of the angled brush in a brow gel or powder.
3. Use light strokes that follow the grain of the hair, form a base line for your brows and draw the color upward using swift strokes.
4. Shade in the downward angle of the brows guiding the brush in the direction that the hair grows.
