With summer arriving, one of the many things we’re excited about is the fresh fruit that’s back in season—watermelon being at the top of the list. And while we don’t have to sell you on how delicious it is, did you know it’s also great for your skin? We didn’t either.
But lucky for us, the founders of the new Korean beauty brand Glow Recipe did and they’ve created a sleeping mask that already has a cult following. In fact, it’s caused such a buzz with skincare fanatics that it’s currently sold out and has a 5,000-customer wait list.
So what makes the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask ($45;glowrecipe.com) so special? The light, airy formula is made with real watermelon extract that you can smell right when you open the jar. According to Glow Recipe’s website, watermelon rind and flesh is traditionally used in Korea as a soothing ingredient and is full of skin-restoring vitamins, antioxidants, and amino acids.
The mask also includes glycolic acid and lactic acid to gently exfoliate, while hyaluronic acid hydrates, and peony root brightens.
To wear it overnight, use two scoops and generously smooth it across skin as your final skincare step before bed. It sinks in quickly so you can lay on your pillow without sticking to it. It can also be used as a wash-off mask using just one scoop and rinsing with lukewarm water after 10 minutes. While it’s currently sold out online, it launches in Sephora stores on Friday! In the meantime you can sign up for the waitlist at glowrecipe.com or sephora.com.
