“One-sided love leads to humiliation. He must meet you halfway and learn to respond to you sympathetically. You are not a playground for his ego. Stay true to your inner dignity, and resist the impulse to always give in. Be patient, put a little ice on the heat, and he’ll meet you halfway;)”
“If only we could magically deliver the knowledge to any troubled soul that a gift awaits us all on the other side of our storms. That the only purpose for all of our storms is to strengthen us…not to curse us. And that, it’s this reoccurring miracle that strengthens our faith, deepens our knowledge and understanding in preparation for the next inevitable storm until we are ultimately…utterly unconquerable. If you know of someone having a hard time, let them know you love them and hug them today. Remind them that the storm will pass and when it does, a gift of wisdom awaits.”
“The dilemma you face whether to change your last name to your husband’s is a timely one. I have always believed that an empowered woman is one that can stand on her own two feet and has the strength to trust her personal code of womanhood and not necessarily the code that a collective creates as the standard to which an independent woman must adhere to, to actually be identified as…independent. Each woman carries a different code so that she may never be replicated and is assured her individuality and freedom. As long as your decision reflects your personal code towards building the woman you want to be in this world…congrats…job well done.”
“Remember this…the Higher Power never puts an obstacle or pain of any kind in our hands without being prepared to give us EXACTLY what we need on thee other side of it. So let your Higher Power guide you THROUGH it…until you reach thee inevitable blessing that awaits you on thee other side of your struggle. Adversity is the recipe for creating a spiritual giant.”
“Today, I had to do an inventory on all the things I give focus to during my day. I realized that I allow a lot of people and circumstances to steal my focus from things that are more of a priority to me than what I am CHOOSING to focus on. I gotta change how and what I focus on! What are you focusing on for the majority of your day? Are you truly focusing on things that are important to you?”
“To the young women who often ask me if a woman can have a career, family, love and herself in one lifetime,” wrote Jada. “My answer is yes. Far too often family, marriage and love have been considered enemies to a woman’s autonomy. Although it’s not easy, nothing of any meaning in this life ever is. The only enemy here are your ideas of how things should or should not be. The moment YOU have the courage to step out of the paradigm that you have been told is acceptable and discover the paradigm that is conducive to your happiness, you will see that you truly can…have it all. This takes experimentation and patience without the input of those who are…fearful;) A woman’s power can and will deliver all she needs the moment she decides to wield it.”
The one thing I have learned is that abundance wears many faces, and when we focus on what we don’t have versus focusing on what we do have, we miss out on the blessings that have been given to us. I know you are saying,”That’s easy for you to say Jada, you have everything.” Let’s be clear, NO ONE has everything and we all imagined SOMETHING different for ourselves at some point. But… we mature and step out of our own narccisissm and learn to practice gratitude. Learning to be grateful is the journey for every human being on this planet, no matter WHO we are. And when we are grateful…THAT’S when we have it all. When we practice gratitude… happiness is inevitable.
“I have won at a lot of things, but I have failed at much more. Because of this, I have learned to embrace failure because failure has never failed to deliver me from something. Through failure I have learned to discard behavior and attitudes that no longer service me. I have learned to conquer fears. I have strengthened and matured. Failure has always brought me the gift needed to prepare me for the next win. And there is ALWAYS another win waiting for us on the horizon. Failure is not a curse, it’s an awakening;)”
“I have learned to trust that I will learn and become stronger from my mistakes. I have even learned to welcome and enjoy them. Mistakes don’t create regret for me when I have been courageous enough to go for it. I have only regretted the moments I was too afraid to go for what I really wanted because of my fear to fail. For me, life is about creating an art of how to get out of the holes we fall into, not about creating an art of not falling into them. A life ain’t worth living if your not going to live. Trust yourself to fail and to win. Trust yourself to live the life you truly desire.”
