Keri is a commercial actress who reminds Yara to stay grounded and passionate about more than just her fame! Her parents monitor her social media activity and keep her humble with chores.
Yara loves rocking her hair naturally and her mom does too! The Black-ish star, is a big fan of a wash and go and a twist out!

“[I admire your] confidence/bravado,” said Yara on her mom Keri. When you tackle something you have never ever done before, you go into it knowing that you can already do it.”

“The base of Yara’s curly styles begins with product-free two-strand twists,” says her mom, Keri.

Yara is big sister to two younger brothers one of whom is an actor just like her!

“I feel so much love at home,” said Yara when talking about her mom.

When the time is right, these two are sure to get down to business.
“You are authentically yourself and you are happy to represent young people and young women of color and I am very proud of that. you are authentically a beautiful human that has been placed here to do something,” said Keri on her pride in her daughter.
On the run, Yara and Keri will snap a pic and it’s always flawless!
“As the mother of three children of color, including two boys, I think it’s really important for them to see themselves on the screen and in the mainstream—that’s wonderful,” said Keri. Well said.
“[You taught me] to be content with yourself while you’re still growing,” said Yara. “If I’m ok with who I am and I’m sure of who Yara is, even if Yara is going to change, the essence of me will always stay the same.”
“You truly leave me astounded,” said Keri on being Yara’s mom.
