Not only is Zendaya’s social presence light and fun, but she also uses it for good. When trolling twitter handle @Manstagram made comments about New Zealand-based Youtube vlogger Shannon H’s makeup free look, Zendaya stepped in. “That awkward moment when this tweet is irrelevant cause she’s slaying both ways #wannaborrowmyglasses,” she wrote alongside a makeup free picture of herself. Women standing up for each other? Yasssss!
When hit with some not-so-nice remarks about her faux locs, Zendaya took the high road and decided to use the incident to eloquently school the world instead of lashing out. It reminds us of how she gracefully bowed out of her role in the Aaliyah movie because the star’s family wasn’t on board saying, “I tried my best to reach out to [Aaliyah’s] family on my own but I was unable to do so. Therefore I felt not really morally okay with moving forward with the project.” Respect.
As a young celebrity it’s a lot of pressure to take on the responsibility of leading your peers but Zendaya has no problem stepping up to the plate. “I just want to continue to be that positive light or that positive influence for a lot of young people because sometimes I feel we lack that,” Zendaya said during a GMA interview. We commend you!
